DEUTSCHE AFRIKA LINIEN
HAMBURG
DAL Agency Belgium
The history of the privately owned Deutsche Afrika-Linien/John T. Essberger Group of Companies dates back to the year 1924.
Today the company consists of Deutsche Afrika-Linien, traditional liner service to South Africa, as well as the DAL service to East Africa and to the Islands of the Indian Ocean, whereas the group's tramp shipping and shipmanagement activities are pooled in John T. Essberger.
Liner Services are much about experience and connections. Particulary if you are talking about Afrika. With the introduction of containerized shipping the demand for just-in-time became even more important.
For more than a quarter of a century DAL and its partners have been serving South Africa on a 7-day-named-day Schedule. Ports in East Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands are also served on a weekly basis.
After more than 11 successfull years of SAFDAL co-operation on the South Africa trade both lines, Safmarine and DAL Deutsche Afrika-Linien, mutually agreed to terminate the SAFDAL Joint Venture as from 31/10/08.
However both lines will continue to be a member of the SAECS Vessel Sharing Agreement. Each Line will now market their own brands in all of Europe and South Africa by means of own Agency Organisations.
Consequently, DAL Agency Belgium (DAB), Division of VDA, has been founded on October the 1st, 2008 to take care of all your shipments via Belgian Ports in general and via the great Port of Antwerp in particular.
For clients looking for the best transport solution between Europe and African destinations, Deutsche Afrika-Linien is the proper answer.
As customer, clients will always have the guarantee that through DAL's agency network their cargoes will be handled by well experienced and professional staff both ends.
