van Doosselaere & Achten (VDA) was established in 1939 by two Antwerp families with a traditional Belgian maritime background and still today is owned by members of the same families.

Real activities in fact only started after World-War II in 1945 when very soon the first representations of regular liner services to the Mediterranean were obtained.

Over the years and in fact over three generations for each family, the company slowly developed to become one of the main Belgian independent liner agents representing regular break bulk and container lines to worldwide destinations.


VDA is also specialized in NVO/NVOCC, Warehousing and Intermodal Logistic.

Through the establishment of new companies, mergers and take overs, the original van Doosselaere & Achten company grew to become a group of companies specialized in all aspects of commerce and transportation.


The present partners in the company are,

Mrs. Eliane Achten, grand-daughter of one of the founders,
Mr. Yves van Doosselaere, grandson of the other founder
